    GENRE

    Crime thrillers, Australian political fiction

If you like fast-paced, page-turning crime thrillers then Richard Evans’ books will not disappoint you.

Drawing on his insider experiences as a federal member of parliament during the 1990s Keating-Howard era and as a national industry leader, Richard Evans has created explosive believable stories using compelling characters and page-turning plots.

Through his well-researched books, he examines contemporary societal issues and, using his insider experience, exposes the dark arts of politics including the tribalism, bullying, manipulation of power, backstabbing, and egos. Themes he has written about include parliamentary corruption, integrity, equity and inclusion, Aboriginal sovereignty, euthanasia, capital punishment, and the manipulation of election campaigns.

Thrillers with a political theme are a unique genre, and when crime and suspense is layered into the story readers ask – is it true? Richard’s titles are similar to Steve Lewis and Chris Uhlmann’s ‘Secret City’ trilogy, Tony Jones, and Michael Brissenden’s works, and would be enjoyed by Jane Harper, Chris Hammer and Jack Heath readers.

He lives in the Whitsunday village of Airlie Beach, Australia.
